VPN to another XP device?

A friend I have ADSL and I want to create a VPN between the 2 of us, so we
are seen on as on the same network. Can XP do this or can you suggest any
free sofware?

I create VPN's as work but only harware based ones via Cisco, but I haven't
got a clue with XP and Software.

Click Start / Help, then look for help on "Virtual Private Network".
If you come in from the outside, remember to create a rule on your
router that directs port 1723 packets to the VPN host.
