Asking for Assistabce w/ Cisco VPN Client

Mike

Hi, we have two XP Pro PCs in a remote location that connects to the main
site via DSL, VPN, Remote Desktop.
I went to the remote site to replace the PCs and realized the people using
VPN, Remote Desktop will not be able to
print data when connected to the main site via vpn client and remote
desktop. Is there any way I configure CISCO VPN Client & Remote Desktop so
the users at the remote site can print at the remote site data they are
viewing that is on the main site. Let me know if I didn't explain the
problem clearly.

Thanks,

Mike

You writing about printing to network printers via TCP/IP in the domain
of the remote site? If so, the alternative is to resort to local printing.

I'm referring to the inability of people to print data to local (slaved)
printers at the remote site they are viewing via VPN. I hope I wrote this
so others can understand it.

If the printers are at the VPN [i.e., remote] site, then it should be
possible to set up the printers at that site through their IP addresses,
if they are so equipped, that are in the same VPN domain. This could be
accomplished through the Add Printers applet at the local site.

They are dedicated printers connected w/ paraLLEL cables.
However, I can probably take a networkable printer to the remote site.
Then I'd have put the remote network printer on the main site network
in the domain?

Is there any other way to do it?

Mike,

Were you able to get this working - I am attempting the same thing but not
with a Cisco VPN client. I want to print to a local network printer while
the VPN is connected. Seems that would be possible somehow through the "IP
routing" on the XP machine.
