I am trying to find information on how to set up a windows
2000 based VPN Server on my network the problem I am
having is trying to get it to connect through a Cisco
Firewall version 515E. Can anyone help me find out how to
get the conductivity right.

Thanks

I have had a similar problem. My cause was the TCP ports
used for the VPN were not open on my router. I do not have
a cisco, but it's somewhere to start to look at. You may
want to do a tracert to your VPN client/server and see
where the problem is.

How to use PPTP through a Cisco PIX

In order to use PPTP through a PIX, you must have a one-to-one mapping from
the external IP to an internal IP for type 47 GRE packets and port 1723.

Yes, you need to open the 47 protocol and port 1723.

In future, you can enable the logging on the PIX firewall and get the logs on the syslog server to find what is being blocked during
session.
