VPN keeps asking me to connect

I setup a VPN connect to a customers site and it works just fine.
Problem is when I'm not connected to the VPN applications, Thunderbird
and Firefox and IE, are asking me to connect to the VPN connection even
though I have a direct internet connection setup. This is even after a
reboot.

What gives?
 
Make sure select never dial a connection for the VPN connection under IE>Tools>Connections.
