I have posted a message about a VPN, but did not get a response. I have
never set up a VPN before, and I do not know where to start.

A satellite office wants to be able to connect to the file server and use
the database at the main office. Main office has a cable modem, satellite
office will have a cable modem. Main office is running Windows NT 4.0
server, (not DC). Does satellite office have to have a server also, or can
workstations connect to the server at the office through a VPN? Are there
docs on the Internet to help with the set up of a VPN?

Are you using any Remote Access Server (RAS) services on
your NT server now?

Windows 2000 server has a built-in VPN client, but I'm not
sure about NT. Since they are similar, you may get lucky.
