I have been unable to make any VPN connections. The
problem is isolated to one system running XP SP1. When I
try to connect I get Error 800.
Very long and fustrating story short is:
I notice that after the Connection icon it is listed as
WAN Miniport(L2TP)instead of WAN Miniport(PPTP). If I
change the network properties to PPTP VPN instead of
automatic I get a device not found error. If I disable
the L2TP ports and try to create a VPN icon It creates it
as a dial-up connction instead of a VPN connection.
After all this I feel certain that the WAN Miniport(PPTP)
is hosed. I have found no way to delete thsi and
recreated it. I have reinstalled the IP Stack, I have
deleted the PCI Bus and redetected all the devices. How
the heck do I get my WAN Miniport(PPTP)back???
Thanks Much
