VPN - authentication

I have join a company that has the VPN server(windows
2000, using microsoft VPN) in the DMZ, but the server is
multihomed and has a connection back into the LAN for
authentication of user accounts. Dose anyone have a url or
document that I can use to help me setup windows
authentication to pass through the firewall so I can drop
the multi homed connection and have the server safely in
the DMZ.
