volume

Have you looked at control panel/sounds and put a check in
the box to show volume control.


| i installed windows xp but i do not have volume control
 
I am asuming that your audio harware is actually installed and working and you want the speaker icon on your task bar.

Go to your control panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices and check the box for displaying the icon.
