......is really low even though I have all the volume switches (both using the Windows XP controls and those of the software) up to max volume.

Not suprisingly, it also sounds distorted. Was working fine when I got it, now the audio is barely audible.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Tried reinstalling the driver to no avail - can't find an INI file.

It's probably worth checking to make sure that you don't have
powered speakers with the power cord loose or disconnected.
