Volume Dirty won't reset

Chkdsk runs every time I boot on a volume, never finds anything, but the
"dirty volume bit" never gets reset. I've run the utility to inspect the
bit, but it won't reset it. Is there a way to do this manually, or find out
what is causing it to get set?

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the suggestion. Though I was hoping for something a little less
drastic the article basically says "try repairing the registry" and the link
for doing that basically says "blow out you old registry and replace it",
which sounds like a complete re-install of all the software.

Scroll down to "checkdisk"

No. You simply restore a backup of the Registry which should also
contain all the data except for very recent changes.
