volume control

someone please help b4 i smash my pc. i suddenly have no sound on my pc.when
i go to check the place icon in tray it tells me volume control is not
installed. i do not have the windows disc to the pc. i have tried to
runsndvol32,exe but nothing is workin im constantly seeing error messages and
im gettin really frustrated PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Reinstall the drivers for your soundcard. If that doesn't resolve it, check
the soundcard manufacturer's website for the latest drivers for your card.
