volume control

i cannot get much sound from my speakers even though all volume settings are
set to the highest settings.
I have tried the speakers on a different PC and they are working fine.
Any advise appreciated.

go to start/run/type: mmsys.cpl (enter)
is there your soundcard well configurated ?...if you do the sound test
(start/run/type: dxdiag)...there is not problem ?

Older sound cards put out enough voltage that amplified speakers aren't
needed. Most new sound cards don't and you must use speakers with the
little power packs.
