I reinstalled XP applied SP2 and other recent updates. All seem well EXCEPT
there is no volume control in the lower right hand corner of the taskbar. I
have looked and looked and cannot find the exe file. How do I
activate/install volumne control in the taskbar?

NOTE: Audio works with media player, and it's volumne control.

Follow these steps:

1. Open Start, Run, type without quotes 'mmsys.cpl' and click OK.
2. Select the Volume tab.
3. Check the box 'Place volume icon in the taskbar'.
4. Click OK.

Thanks, easy when you know what to do!
