volume control

I converted from windows 98 to windows 2000 professional
and everything appears to be working much better. I am
having a problem on the volume control and when I attempt
to move the bar higher it automatically goes to the
lowest position. The volume from my speakers are low
and I cannot increase the volume.
 
Do you have right Sound card driver?
Check your sound card, if they have Windows 2000 Compatible and any updated one from manufacture.
