volume control settings

I have software running that requires the volume recording control to select
'line in' but every time the computer reboots, 'cd audio' is selected. Is
there any way to force the recording control to select 'line in' and have it
stay that way? I have searched high and low but cannot find a way to make
the setting stick.

thanks in advance,

jim

Hey! Not sure what sound card you have, but I don't think it really matters.
Double click the speaker icon from the application tray next to the "clock".
Choose options from the Volume Control box then Properties. Then click the
Recording radio button and remove checkmarks from everything except "Line
In". It that doesn't work you may have to get into your sound card settings!

Hope this helps!

Been there done that! Even with only 'line in' showing, 'cd audio' is still
automatically selected when the computer reboots even though it is not
showing. I can't put the box in an unattended place until I fix this issue.
Thanks anyway,

jim
