Volume Control Program

Tracie D. Mann

I have tried relentlessly to restore the volume control
icon to the notification area on my desktop, but to no
avail. I have used the formula given on the microsoft.
com website, but i keep getting the message: No
destination specified for sndvol32.ex_c:\windows|system32
\sndvol32.exe.
Can anyone please help we figure out what the problems is?

Thanks in advance

Tracie,

I think the error message indicates it cannot find an audio player.
Have you tried deleting audio components from Device Manager,
and rebooting? That should reinstall the audio drivers, and may
fix this problem.

Just a guess.

Tracie,

Are you leaving a space after ex_?

Another way is to use msconfig's expand tab.
Go to Start/Run and enter msconfig
Click on Expand file
File to restore: sndvol32.exe
Restore from: D:\i386\sndvol32.ex_
Save file in: C:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe
Click on Expand
