That happenend to me on one of the systems I upgraded. I had to delete
the sound card from the Device Manager (and the sound card control panel
application if one was installed), then installed the latest W2K drivers
and let W2K rediscover the sound card.
Then I made sure that the Audio tab on the Sounds and Multimedia Control
Panel has the right Preferred Device set.
