I cannot get my volume control button to come up. I have tried it from my
toolbar on the bottom with right clicking the button, and I have gone through
the control panel and still cannot open it. Help

Re-install the following file, it may be corrupt : sndvol32.exe

Pop your XP CD into your PC, then :

Start > Run > type in msconfig > Enter > Expand File > follow the
instructions

Argh! Greetings from gloom. Luddites ennui is definetly what plagues me.
As things worked yesterday they should work today. There is no need to
improve upon everything constantly. It worked just fine a year ago.
1. Volume will not go any higher than a dull whisper not matter what I have
done, and that has been everything w/i my mortal power. Drivers? WMP 10
(That's when I think the problem began.)
2. Desk top speakers, nice ones, just quit working, well barely audible
through right speaker.
3. Now using headphones with very limited success...thru front port.
Library of music and dvds play. System sounds are marginal, it's hit and
mis. Both l and r channels function but barely audible. Entered into
search: SNDV0L3254.pf and received 2 files from said search. Summary
Properties Changes to Summary not saved; access has been denied. The file
may be marked read-only (It isn't) or in use by another application wtf?
darn it, then something about vol 32 C:\WINNIT\Prefetch and
C:\WINIT\system32...Re-install the following fie ...may be corrupt.
I also put Apps in drive Start>Run>msconfig>Enter>Expand File>follow
instructions. What instructions? I'm totally lost in techno-world. I'm a
horticulturist and writer. These kinds of issues do little more than vex me
to the point where I give up and go outside and weed or somehting. At least
that way I feel like I'm getting something accomplished.
Is anyone brave enough to try and assist teh n00b?
