Volume Control Goes Crazy(WinXp)

I am having trouble with the volume control on my pc. I
have windows XP and it is gateway if that matters to
you. Whenever I leave my computer on for a while and I
push the volume up and down on my gateway "sk-9920"
keyboard the volume goes either all the way up or all the
way down (which even way I push it.)If you have any
solutions please email me at (e-mail address removed).

I have tryed reformating my hardrive to see if the right
file was places on a bad sector but that didn't work. I
am also up to date with all of my windows update files
also, so it think that it is a problem either with my
keyboard or the driver for it.

Hi,

Did you try using the volume control with the mouse and see the outcome. I think it has to do with the keyboard.

Yes, I have, and whenever I let it sit for a while, like before, it does the same thing, either up or down but not anywhere in the middle
