We use VMWare on a daily basis, it's not as good as other virtualisation technologies in terms of throughput performance, but it's the most stable, and provides the best virtualisation.

Don't get me wrong, it has it's fair share of bugs and troubles, but it's a very good platform to use.

I need to learn both various Microsoft OS's & Linux OS's for a course i'm doing at the moment.
If not VMWare would HyperOS be better or something else?
But what??

Go for VMWare, visit their site, find the free version and install it.

It's got issues as i said above, but nothing you'll notice, it's only stuff with stupidly high power servers which we use, it has issues with multiple cpu's and time sync, something you won't notice.
