"Add or Remove Programs" does not work (launch).

I have been using Windows XP many months, and suddenly (It has been working
before) Add or Remove Programs in Control panel does not work: when I double
click it, nothing just doesn't happen. I checked my rights, and I should be
the administrator, and have rights to remove programs. Can this be coused by
some virus, or some program which I have installed?

thanks (I cannot remove my programs :) - ok, I can reinstall the windows
quite easily with HyperOs, but still it takes time ...).

By the way , HyperOs is quite good!

One cause could be the theme you're using.
Change to the windows default " Windows XP Style ". If you are using some other
theme, the problem is usually with a file called: shellstyle.dll (included with
most visual styles).

You mean Display properies/Appearence. It is Windows XP style at the moment.

By the way, I think, that at the same time this problem started, another
thing started to happen: When I shut down the computer, a Dialog message box
comes (didnt come earlier), and when I start my computer, I get the log on
dialog window and I need to give my password (which is blank at the moment,
so I just press enter). Both of these started to come just recently - I
think at the same tima as this first thing. Maybe they are related somehow
to each other ...

It could very easily be a virus causing this or some other form of malware
etc.
I would recommend checking the system over with these tools:
(Note download and install then UPDATE before using)

AdAware: www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spybot S & D: www.safer-networking.org/
Trend Micro Online Virus scanner: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If these do not find anything then try a System Restore to a date before the
problem started and with any luck that will solve the problem.

Thanks. ups, I ran Spybot, and it found a worm (Klez). I wonder, why the
virus programs didnt find it...?

Virus programs are great for finding viruses but miss worms and parasites
etc. regularly.
That's why using spybot or some form of spyware remover is an essential
extra step in protecting your computer.
