Vista is an embarrasment to Microsoft! After 20 some years as a PC user I am
horrified by the continual problems I have had in the past two weeks on a new
PC using Vista Home Premium. I am returning my new PC and purchasing a MAC!
Microsoft owes all PC users a national full page ad apology! and then
resolve all disputes with free XP install.

Of course what you should have done is instead of just ranting here - was
actually posted in detail the problems you were having and then maybe you
could have received some help.
But now you wish to move to a preparatory platform with limited opportunity
for end user expansion/upgrade or customization, maybe this is the best
thing for you and all you need from your computing device is a commodity
option. I assume you will now be buy all new Mac software too or are you
going to buy copy XP to use in a virtual machine environment?

Good luck with your new endeavor switching to another OS. Instead of complaining you should have mentioned the issues that you had problems with and maybe someone could have helped you. Most people that have issue's are usually issue's that are self inflicted or having the wrong 3rd party software or an incompatible hardware problem. There is nothing wrong with Vista as many that do not have any problems. Vista is a change from previous Operating Systems and it is a new learning curve. Very similar from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95. So instead of ranting why not post your issue's that you are experiencing .
