Compatibility

Microsoft, I think compatibility with a wide array of programs needs
immediate attention. When I switched to Vista, it was like starting all over
again with a new computer. I try to transfer programs from XP to Vista but
compatibility is ALWAYS an issue, and Vista won't allow the programs,
documents & files and even some software into the PC running Vista.

That's the case whenever any new operating system is released. Many
software manufacturers are often slow to make their products compatible
with the new OS, as they'd much rather sell you new versions. That's
why people check the compatibility of their current applications (and
hardware components/peripherals) *before* deciding to purchase a new OS.

You are absolutely right in what you say. It is deplorable behavior by the
authors of 3rd party programs. I would like to know where these people get
off in expecting us to buy new versions and not supplying us with free
software for use on our computers.

If we let this behavior go by without making a stand, we will be expected to
pay for food, clothes, cars, stereos. Who knows where it will all end..

"compatibility is ALWAYS an issue"
I don't think so!

I have had only 1 program(Nero 6) that was totally incompatible with vista.
The rest installed easily, or were installed in the XP SP2 mode.
