vista x64 explorer pdf thumbnail previewI

I have a Vista x64 laptop and a Vista X86 desktop system.
On the desktop, when I use windows explorer to search for "*.pdf" I
see a preview instead of the PDF icon. On the laptop (X64) I only see
the PDF icon, no preview or thumbnail is visable anywhere.
I would like to get the preview going on the laptop. Where and what
settings do I need to enable to get it working?
I have already set both systems "Folder View" to have exactly the same
checkboxes and radio buttons.

Seems like its just a limitation of PDFs on Windows Vista x64, I can't get
it to preview either.
