Vista Windows Switcher Aero Mouse Button

Aero Windows Switcher is activated by clicking the window switcher
applet on the taskbar. But if you have to click the applet on the
taskbar, you might as well click the window on the taskbar you want to
bring to the front. Is there a way to assign a mouse button (middle
Wheel) to active the Aero Switcher?

I think that's depended on the mouse software, I have a MS Comfort 3000 and
the software allows you to do just what you want.

Check - Control Panel > Mouse and see if the option is available, otherwise
check the web page of the mouse manufacturer.

I suspect that almost any software will work with a PS/2 compatible mouse,
in the past I've changed mouse but not software and it worked just fine. You
may look on MS Hardware site for software that might work.

The idea of the switcher is not to provide a faster way to access an open
window if you already know which one you want - in which case, as you said,
just click that one in the task bar - but to see all the open windows at
once in order to pick the one you want if you are unsure which is which from
looking at the task bar. This is especially handy if you have several
instances of the same kind open - like several internet pages when they are
stacked in the taskbar.

Does your mouse software, as seen in Control Panel > Mouse, allow you to
assign a hotkey to a mouse button? If so you could assign Winkey + Tab.
