Vista Ultimate 64bit downgrade to Vista Utltimate 32bit

I recently purchased a notebook with Vista Ultimate 64bit installed but now
am finding that there are a significant number of applications, firewall,
virus protection etc. that do not and in many cases may never work with
Vista 64bit.

Is it possible to downgrade Vista Ultimate 64 to Vista Ultimate 32bit and if
so do I need to repurchase the 32 bit version?

Thanks!

Contact the seller/manufacturer of the notebook and consider returning
if they can not help.
Otherwise you may need to purchase Windows Vista again if you want 32
bit.

As far as I know, Ultimate is supposed to have both 32-bit and 64-bit DVD's
in the -retail- package. No clue how that translates to your OEM box but I
would go back to the vendor and say "I want you to install 32-bit Vista
Ultimate on this box." and see what they say. I know you can get the 32-bit
DVD on-line for a small fee (<$20? <$10? Not sure... maybe you can d/l an
iso instead... which, one should think, would cost you nothing) but I'd put
some pressure on your vendor to hook you up with 32-bit. If they won't...
consider returning the PC. I know most PC's have restocking fees... so that
sucks... it may be cheaper to pay to get the 32-bit DVD on-line from MS (or
d/l iso if that's an option...) if your vendor won't help you out. And.. if
they won't help you out, that would be the last PC -I- purchased from that
vendor.

Good luck!

Lang;
The online ordering applies to retail not OEM.
Also, it does not apply to Ultimate since both 32 and 64 DVD bit are
included in the retail package.

Well then I guess the OP only option is to go back to the vendor...

Unfortunately, probably so unless the OP wants to pay retail.
One of the many reasons the OP paid less for retail than OEM.
