Vista Sucks!

Peter

You see many people posting here with problems because the majority of
people, who have no problems, don't bother to post here.
It's not Microsoft's fault that such and such hardware or software doesn't
work...it's the manufacturer of that stuff that is to blame.

I can't believe this operating system sucks so bad! Why are there so many
posts here? Why are people having so many problems? Why can 't Microsoft
make products that work the first time? Why have a beta program if all
these problems still happen?

This pea brain can't figure out what I said. Obviously you see people
complaining here...the people who have no problems don't bother posting...he
can't quite grasp that.

All software, any software will have glitches upon initial release. Only my
very old programs (10 years) and hardware have problems. I don't find that
surprising. There was a post that says the 20 million copies have been
sold. If that is true and the posts here represent mostly users with
problems, then the number of serious problems is minimal. I had to dump
many of my old DOS programs when Windows was released. I think many worked
with Windows 3.1, but after that, too bad. It seems that the major problems
are with those who have upgraded from XP. There seem to be some residual XP
stuff that conflicts with Vista. Those users could backup their data files,
reformat the C: drive and do a fresh install. It's a pain, but most
problems will disappear.

No hardware or software manufacturer is going to design software or hardware
that intentionally doesn't work with Vista.
It doesn't work with Vista because of Vista!

Have said this many times before and will say it again. Microsoft is 'not'
to blame for all the woes in the software/hardware world. Both software and
hardware manufacturers had ample time during the Vista beta trials in which
to update their software and/or hardware. They chose to delay doing this
until Vista was released. When Vista was released and users started
installing their 'old' software out came the hue and cry (as it did with XP)
the damn thing doesn't work that's Microsoft's fault, again! I personally
know of a number of software developer's (big names at that) that have no
intention, at least for another two or three months, of updating their
current software to run on Vista. This is a marvellous time for software and
hardware manufacturer's to get you to buy new software/hardware, the dollar
or pounds will be literally dropping from heaven into the bank. But of
course the software/hardware companies aren't to blame for their further
riches are they, No, of course not, it Microsoft, as always!

Peter i wholeheartedly agree with your comments!

Nor are they entirely guilt free. For an OS that was supposedly 5 years in
development Vista is quite a disappointment.

Place Linux in place of Microsoft everywhere in your post.

Then go to the Linux help groups. You will see that Linux sucks.

That's a joke, especially coming from someone with your handle.
It's pretty obvious that this troll kiddie is not, and never will be, what
its handle implies.

FWIW, I completely agree with your other comments.

Killfile time (for the troll kiddie)!

And My 2 cents would be if Vista was that bad ...How can it be working so
well on my machine and many of my friends also run it with no problems
whatsoever....Some are running Premium while others run Ultimate and still
others are running Business (myself included)...Do NOT tell me it is Vista
just because YOU cannot figure it out...!!!

D

Drew

Just another EXTREMELY valid point !! How soon people forget what a
nightmare xp was the first few months at least...I highly doubt Vista will
need anywhere near the service packs that XP did and still does...I know as
I have been running it (xp)since it first came out and still have xp pro sp2
on wife's laptop (will wait for it to die before replacing it with a (Yes it
will be Vista !!!) computer...If you are an MVP which I highly doubt you
would have the common sense and BRAINS to fix your computer instead of
trying to blame a company that is CLEARLY not all at fault !!!

Just say no to Trolls !!!

If you sell software it is certainly within ***your*** capabilities to
accept returns on open products. YOU can send them back to your distributor
for credit. You just don't want to.

Windows ME was also supposed to be the next great thing at one time too.
Vista is the next Windows ME.
You call me a troll, but I am making valid points whether you acknowledge
them or not. People wouldn't be so hot headed here if they didn't think
some of this was true. I SELL software and hardware products.
#1 hardly anyone has bought Vista compared to what you would imagine MS
would hope. #2 Virtually EVERYONE I've talked to has had problems (True
most of them are/were fixable). ALOT of those people would return Vista if
they could, but of course they can't since the SW is opened.
It isn't up to SW and HW manufacturers to upgrade their products every time
MS changes their whole OS. They "failed to release and update" when Vista
came out? That's laughable.
It is up to MS to ensure that most of the stuff works without a major
upgrade. This isn't the beginning of the PC Industry anymore. Companies
and people have spent countless dollars on equipment and software and cannot
continue to do so indefinately. Microsoft will have to grow up at some
point and realize this, especially given the economy as of late.

P.S. Microsoft had to HIRE people to come here and advocate their products.
How sad.

M

Microsoft MVP

Uh, no. They won't accept because of all the registration and activation
(and CD-Key theft) issues. I would think you would know that.

Just like Hoover has to take back all returns from Wal-Mart, Microsoft takes
back returns from Best Buy. It is just that you personally, one who says he
sells software, does not want to return the customers money.

It seems to qualify under the definition of 'Extorsion', when we are forced
to pay dearly for an unfinished and flawed product then have to pay them for
advice to for advice to help us fix it. However I enterred this forum for
help in sorting out my brand new Vista computer problems on start up. I need
to find out why I get a windowsaying:- "Power2Go Express has stopped
working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available." I look foreward to any advice, but frankly did not expect or
desire to enter a 'Flame war'. As far as returning Vista, how can you do that
from a new computer. Right now I feel I would gladly swap my new
pre-installed Vista for an XP Media Center disk if anyonecan tell me how to
do that!!! And why would anyone other than the most desperate enter this
sadly argumentative situation, don't you all have anything better to do. If
your computers are so wonderful on Vista what are you all doing here??
