Well i tried it today.
One hour and fifty minutes to install.
It recognised all my 4gb of ram installed not 3.681gb.
That`s it.No improvement in performace or anything ese.
A complete waste of time i must say.
It`s now off my system and my suggestion to microsoft is not to release it
but put it back behind bars.

It's Working Very Well On My Computer (It's A Little Slow When I Try To
Install Driver's Or Programs On It, However), But At Least IE 7 Is Not
Crashing Like It Does On My Windows XP SP3 RC1 Computer, Just FYI.

Hey Kev, I installed Server 2008 RC1 and enabled Desktop Experience feature
which enabled AERO. :)

UH SIR, read what posted.
i said it showed ALL my installed ram

So did I Andre (X64). And I copied the Sidebar from Vista X64,
registered the two dll's and most of the gadgets works except for the
clocks which have a black face with one red pointer on top of them.
Got any idea on how to correct this artifact?

Other than XP SP2, do you know the purpose of a service pack?

Yes, it shows all the installed RAM (I read about it in the link below), but
that doesn't mean it's all available in 32-bit systems.

no i tried the system for several hours but i failed to see any significant
improvements on what i already had installed,so i uninstalled it and im very
happy using vista as it came out the box with the updates that have been
presented thus far.

Its interesting, because I am sure I saw the Sidebar in a a demo of an early
Server 2008 RC, looks like they took it out in this build.

It's not there, so as I said, I copied the x64 Vista folder. Got any
idea how to resolve the black face only on clocks?
Have you tried the sidebar in your '08 Andre?
Frank

I agree with you. As my system was fully updated anyway, I didn't expect to
notice much performance difference, and yet I think there is. More a
question of setting something going and thinking 'wow that was fast'..

I think that I may have caught the 'wow' factor.. :-)

There Are Some Other Problems With Windows Server 2008 Release Candidate 1
As Well (Like The Fact That Microsoft Money 2008 Does Not Work With Win Svr
2008 RC1), Just FYI.

P.S. The Windows Sidebar Has Been Gone From Win Svr 2008 For At Least 2-3
Previous Builds Now, It Was Not In The November 07 CTP, And It May Not Have
Been In RC0 As Well, Just FYI.

Right Kev, it was in the beta's but not the rc's.
