Vista Installation (Upgrade)

I have Vista Ultimate (RC1) installed. Intallation process does not
recognise and will not install final release of Vista Ultimate. Can I
upgrade? Does it require a "clean install?

You will need to do a clean install, not an upgrade. You can't upgrade a RC
to a final, that needs to be a full install.

To upgrade RC1 you'll need a full retail version of Vista Ultimate. RC1 is
not a qualifying product to allow the use of the upgrade version of Vista.

Not necessarily. He has to have a full edition of Ultimate but he should be
able to use the upgrade option to perform an upgrade-in-place.
