Vista SP1 delayed to 1st quarter of 2008

Microsoft announced that Vista Service Pack 1 will be available sometime
during the first three months of 2008. A test version is going out to beta
testers in the next few weeks.

"delayed" is an inappropriate word since AFAIK, there was never a
promise to have SP-1 sooner.

That was probably intended to be private information.
There is NOTHING there that ANYONE can use to hold Microsoft to
anything.
The actual source document that that he got the information probably
says more than his slip reveals.
However I am sure that some will use his statement a proof Microsoft
missed a delivery promise even though no promise has been made.

And this confirms Microsoft's views:
"Although Microsoft has confirmed that SP1 is in the works, it has
refused to name a release date or peg it to a particular quarter. That
didn't change -- even after Otellini's leak."
