Vista SP1 and automatic updates

E

Ernie Lane

There's a lot about Vista SP1 in the news these days. Now, I've been
getting automatic updates since I have had Vista. Do I need to even pay
attention to SP1, or have the periodic updates taken care of everything?

This one Ernie has been answered before but, if you have Windows Updates set
to automatically download he SP1 will be offered as a download (or partial
download, if you system is currently up to date with update patches). Yes,
you may be fully updated but you don't have all the contents of SP1 on your
system. Some time in March (or thereabouts) Windows Update will download the
SP1, all you have to do is install it.

What do you mean: will they stop you working without asking your permission
(as usual), or will you be invited politely to accept, refuse or defer the
offer?

That is Completely Incorrect, As Usual, Just FYI. Microsoft Windows Vista
Service Pack One RTW Will Be Released Some Time In Mid-March To The General
Public, Just FYI.

You will get it through automatic updates. You don't need to do
anything special. It should be around the middle of March.

Has the 64bit build been released yet of SP1? I know the 32bit has.

No, neither has. It's been released to manufacturing, but it won't be
available for public download until the middle of March.

You stated that the SP1 will be released to the general public. Wow, so you
won't be getting it because you are not part of the general public. Just
FYI. You are part of the Right Wing Wacko Public. Just FYI.

Just FYI, even if you did manage to get the SP1, and installed it, you would
still be gazing at the screen wondering what to do next. Just FYI. Better
leave things alone. Just FYI.

Remember to write Ron Paul a letter. Capitalize the first letter of each
word, letting him know that you are on HIS TEAM! Just FYI

Just FYI
