Vista - Screen Saver won't start

I can't get the screen saver to come on. I have set and reset screen saver,
even rebooted after setting it. Does Vista have a known issue with screen
saver?

I installed the Microsoft 6000 wireless keyboard and mouse yesterday and am
having the same problem - screen saver won't come on - did you find any
solutions that worked?
Thanks

Yes, the same thing happened to my screensaver and about a million other
people who have Vista and a wireless mouse. Install this update: "Microsoft
HID Non-User Input Data Filter". You can get it by going to Start - Control
Panel - Windows Update - Check for Updates.

That fixed my screen saver the first time. But it's broken again. Anyways,
I hope that helps with yours.

Stupid question......but I have the file downloaded...but I dont know how to
install it. The file is zipped..and when winzip tries to un-zip it..it does
not work. Am I supposed to insert the file on the c drive somewhere as is?

I go to the windows update section, and the file needed does not come up (I
tried t his first)

Any thoughts?

There is a conflict with Vista screen saver and several types of wireless
mice. MS has an optional update that corrects it.
