Hi guys,

just a quick question. Since installing vista, a lot of my old programs
(particularly games) will not run properly, even under compatability mode.

My question is, if I install XP as a clean installation over my copy of
Vista (effectively deleteing it) so that I can use some of my older programs,
will I be able, at a later date, to reintall Vista using the same product key
I used to install it the first time, or will it have been taken of the
database now that it has already been activated.

As I will be doing this on the same computer, is there someway Vista will
recognised this and allow me to do it, or, is I choose to reinstall XP, will
my new copy of Vista become useless, and if I want to change back, I will
have to buy another new copy.

Thanks for your help,

Jack Lambourn.

The Vista key stays with whoever has possession of it. You will be able to
use it again in the future..

Hello Jack_606,

You can just use it again, if it gives an error you can phone MS and they
will help you with the activation.

Best regards

Yes. You are entitled to.

At the later date when you've re-installed Vista and attempt to activate the
installation, should online activation be refused, then simply use telephone
activation (a telephone number is provided).

I should mention that I have an oem copy, can I still reinstall vista using
the same serial key even if I over write it with xp for a while
