We find some Vista RC2(5744)-32bit compatibility issue as below:

1. Install Works 8.5, then some items of Works 8.5 can't be opened, such as:
Microsoft Works Database; Microsoft Works Portfolio; Microsoft Works
Spreadsheet; Microsoft Works Word Processor, but Works 8.5 can work normall
on Win XP.

2. Microsoft Photo Story 3.1 can't be installed, but it can be installed
and work normall on Win XP.

3. For MDA2007 test, Bootvis(v1.6.37.0) can't be installed, but it can be
installed and run normall on Win XP.

4.Suspend.exe tool can't run, but it can run normall on Win XP.

5. Vista has not Hyper Terminal tool that support WOR function.
Has Vista a tool that support WOR function?

Please confirm this issue. Above softwares may be not Vista OS compatible
software. Which Ver. of Works/Photo Story /Bootvis/Suspend can support Vista?
How can I get these tools?

Greatly appreciate your support.

Have you tried installing these titles in compatibility mode? If not, give
it a try. In Vista, hit F1 with your mouse cursor on the desktop for help,
then search on "compatibility mode".

Where do you get RC2? I've got the RC1 5600 build. Does it (RC2) address
the SATA loading problems?

Tnx.

RC2 *was* available for public download for ~72 hours a couple of weeks ago.
You missed it. Unless you have a MSDN subscription (OS Level or higher),
you'll have to seek out an "unofficial" source.

Thanks... did it (RC2) address the SATA drive install issue??

Steve
As My test machine has Vista installed on a PATA drive, I can't answer your
question.

The SATA situation depends on your SATA controller and your
hardware configuration. I have installed all CPP versions
on an MSI K8TNeo2 with a SATA drive because the BIOS has the
option of SATA, RAID, or None. When you select SATA the
SATA channel is seen as another IDE channel and no
additional drivers are needed for my VIA chip. The SATA
channel show up as second Primary and Secondary IDE Channel
in the Device Mananger under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. If
RAID is selected the SATA shows up in the SCSI and Raid
controllers, and usually needs an additional device driver.

If you are referring to the Nvidia SATA load issue then yes RC2 takes care
of this issue. If you are running Nvidia raid however this will NOT work
until a driver is released by Nvidia or Microsoft.
