Uninstalling Vista RC2

I ran Vista RC1 for awhile and liked it enough to install RC2. But before
doing so I did the following:

1) Within XP and in a cmd prompt I ran: "X:\boot\bootsect /nt42 c:" and
rebooted.
2) XP booted normally and without dual boot prompt
3) Tried to delete: "C:/boot", "bootmgr" and "BootSect.BAK" but could only
delete the latter.
4) Tried to format the Vista partition via "Disc Management" but couldn't
because it was "open or in use".
5) Went ahead and installed RC2 using the "Custom" installation option and
all went fine. (deleted the "old.windows folder upon completion).

Now, what I would like to know is when it comes time to completely remove
RC2 and format the dedicated partition it is installed on, how can I remove
the "boot" folder and "bootmgr" file from XP? And I am assuming I can use my
Partition Expert "Boot Disk" and format the Vista partition from there.

Any knowledgeable advice would be appreciated.

I had the very same problem with RC1. I tried every trick I could locate
withou success. I finally had to reformat my C: drive and reinstall XP.
After that operation I was back to normal XP.
