Installing Vista RC2 with RAID

John

When I set up RAID in my BIOS and select the CDROM as my boot disk, I
can easily install windows XP by pressing F6 at start up and inserting a
3.5" floppy with the driver at the prompt. However, when I try this with
Vista RC2 nothing happens, the CDROM reads the disk but nothing
happens. I know my RC2 dvd is ok because when I turn RAID off it
installs without a hitch. I thought Vista would behave similar to XP in
that it would start loading and than ask for a driver but this isn't the
case. So my question is: Has anyone else had problem installing RC2 on a
RAID array and am I doing something wrong

Hi,

it appears that the raid drivers for vista are not available yet from the
chip manufacturers. Check with your motherboard vendor to see if the drivers
are available. I understand you cannot use XP raid drivers for Vista.
