Hello all I am deployed to Afghanistan. One of my Soldiers bought a HP laptop
online. He has had the laptop for about 6 months now, and just recently he
started to get a warning when doing one of the following -

Open iTunes
Open Quicktime
Open Windows Media Player
iPod movie conversion program

He gets the following message "The procedure entry point
SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces could not be located in the dynamic link library
SETUPAPI.dll"

Whatever is causing this is causing alot of problems. Our internet
connection here is through a log on window in IE, but he can't even open that
up. If anyone knows what the problem may be or how to possibly fix it would
be greatly appreciated.

I know we can always contact HP, but I was hoping there would be an easy fix
for it. I also went to the backup section in the control panel to see if we
could back up to a better date, but the window says no data availble when we
try to open it up. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

Hi,

From a Google search.......
Your 'setupapi.dll' may be the wrong version or corrupt. Run the
System File Checker. Start -- Run -- sfc /scannow

Try restoring the file.
Start > Run > sfc /scannow or
Start > Run > msconfig (click the Expand File button and specify your
dll.)

All the best,
George
