Vista Problem related to Gecko browsers

In Firefox 2.0.0.2 and SeaMonkey Browser 1.1.1, I tried installations of
things that were not acceptible in Vista: an old version of Flash in FF, and
an old theme in Seamonkey. The errant file is xpicleanup.exe in both cases.
It is a clean up utility to get rid of stray junk, but apparently it does not
work.

Now, neither will start normally, giving me an error message that an install
was not completed, to re-start. Both will run fine if I launch them "Run as
Adminstrator".

The Mozillazine people are not at all sympathetic. They have remedies which
I and, apparently from a search of xpicleanup , many others, have tried and
they just do not work.

Any help will be appreciated.
