VISTA PREMIUM. CAMERA CONNECTION WIZARD

G

Guest

Every time I boot up I get a message stating..Camera connection wizard has
stopped working. I have the option to delete this message but it reappears at
each start up.
I have a Logitech Web cam which works but un-installing this does not remove
the message.
How can I remove this message ?

Go into msconfig and in startup, uncheck the program that is producing the
message. You can also uninstall the program, as you point out it isn't
working anyway.
Type msconfig in the start search if you need to find it.

I still cannot get rid of this annoying message. Does anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks.

Built-in webcam -- my Chicony USB 2.0 running Vista Home Premium reads "graph
render fail" when I click on my web cam. Is this a software, webcam, or
Vista problem. When I check Device Manager, it says my webcam is working
okay. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Toshiba A215-S7444 laptop.

Have you tried going to the Logitech web site & downloading the newest
drivers for the webcam?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have not done that yet. When I check
Device Manager it says that I have the latest drivers installed and the
webcam in working properly, but it isn't. Do you think I should first go
back to an earlier state before Windows automatically added updates? If yes,
how would I do that?

| Not taking away from John's advise because it is accurate, but let me elaborate on it a
| bit more as some may get very confused with out detailed instruction.

| In windows Vista follow these steps

| 1. Go To "Start"

| 2. "Programs"

| 3. "Accessories"

| 4. Then click on "Run"

| 5. Type in "msconfig" and hit enter.

| 6. When you are prompted click "Continue", this should bring up the System
| Configuration windows

| 7. Go to "Start Up"

| 8. Find the following applications named "Logitech Image Studio" and uncheck ALL
| applications with that specific name.

| do not uncheck anything that is not named "Logitech Image Stuiod". If you see similar
| applications with Logitech, or Camera in them but they do not say specifically
| "Logitech Image Studio"..do NOT uncheck them.. only uncheck "Logitech Image Studio"

| In it's location column is should say "C:program Files\Common\Logitech\QCDriver or
| QCDriver2, or QCDriver3

| 9. Click "Apply" to apply the changes then click "ok"

| That should stop the Connection Wizard Error from popping up all the time, but it will
| not fix the combatability problem. That can only be fixed by finding a camera with
| drivers specifically designed for windows Vista.

A better idea!

Drop the POS C R A P techarena.in and access the Microsoft News Group directly via the
following news URL...

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

The site techarena.in is nothing but a lowlife leech of Usenet content making believe it
provided forums when it acyually is leeching off of Usenet via the vBulletin USENET
gateway.
