Vista pre-installed and back ups

Hi all
I recently got a new computer with vista pre-installed. it came with no cd's
incase i need to reinstall it for any reason. I asked at the shop that i
bought it from and they said that if i make back up disks it will include
vista, but I am not sure this is correct as everything I have read about the
back up disk system say's that it doesn't include programmes just files. if I
am right, how do i get vista back on my computer should it all go wrong?
The second part of my question is about my back up disks, I have noticed
that the programme is only using 812kb of a possible 700mb on each cd, any
ideas??
thanks
Laura

Hi Lauravista,

Windows Vista Business or Ultimate include a utility to make a complete PC
backup, Home Basic and Home Premium do not. Open the Backup and Restore
Center to begin creating one. As well, many manufacturers place an image on
the hard drive under a second volume on the system and there should be a
utility program to create a set of recovery disks. If you purchased one of
the Home versions and did not get this, you need to go back to the person
you got the computer from and request restoration media.
