Vista, Outlook 2000, Calendar, Contacts Sync for Windows Mobile

I purchased a new computer with Vista installed. Can I use Outlook 2000 on
it? Can I sync a pockpc and or smartphone with Outlook 2000 on Vista? There
is no Active sync for Vista. The mobile center seems to only allow the
syncing of media and not contacts and calendar information. Thanks

Outlook 2000 only works in Corporate/Workgroup mode on Windows Vista and is
bound to have several other issues as well. Outlook 2000 has been out of
mainstream support for quite some time now and Microsoft will not create
hotfixes for any incompatibility issues.

To sync with Outlook on Vista you'll need to install Windows Mobile Device
Center which is the successor of ActiveSync. WMDC only works with Outlook
2002/XP and up and only Outlook 2003 and 2007 are still in mainstream
support.
