Using a new Dell Inspiron 530 desktop with Windows Vista, I'm trying to get my
JVC GR-DV800u camcorder to be recognized by Vista.

I've tried various methods including the workaround posted on MS Knowledge
Base
(KB927827). Nothing works.

Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

Many Thanks in advance.

If the camera has a usb connection also try that.
That's how I solved my camcorder problem on Vista.

Thanks for your reply Dave.

USB is fine in my case and works for transferring still pictures.

I need the IEEE 1394 connection to transfer video from the camcorder to
my PC and like I said, Vista is NOT detecting the camcorder via 1394 IEEE
(Firewire).
