Vista Networking broken?

I have [4] different PC's here at home, [2] Desktops & [2] Notebooks.

Last week all were running XP Home, all sharing internet, resources and
printers via a LinkSys wired/wireless router. Life was good.

Along comes Vista - I upgraded [1] Desktop & [1] Notebook

Now, I cannot access any of the Vista machine shares from any other machine,
I can't even access shares between the Vista machines - let alone a printer.
Setting up a shared network printer in XP took about 2 seconds - In Vista it
appears as though it isn't even possible.

I found and followed MS's own "File and Printer Sharing in Windows Vista"
article from techNet at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/evaluate/vista_fp.mspx in
excruciating detail and STILL can't resolve this seemingly simple problem.

and yes,, all machines are configured properly, shares, permissions,
drivers, syntaxes, all "t's" are crossed, all "i's" dotted, etc. etc.
.... this isn't my first pc or my first network...

At this point, I can only assume Vista's Networking is broken.

Similar problem here mate. 2 desktops with xp, 1 notebook with xp. My dad
bought a notebook with vista, and I can't get it to connect to the other XP
computers. The weird thing is that one of the desktops has a zune attached,
and THAT shows up on the vista notebook...
I downloaded the update and everything too...
