i have had this os for a few months now..i think
i never thought they would make something this bad
sure you have problems with the other ones, but it never took much to get
something going again
in vista its like.its fixes it self where you cant ,strighten the problem out
i dont know if i can do the registry file thing or not.i think the od
should fix problems not start problems..i just cant stand working on my
computer every other day
because of a defective os system..this is crazy..i want to use my computer
not work on it..constantly fixing problems.if i ever get it totally right
im going to do a restore point.that may help.with future problems.
but i cant get to that point..

Well, you can always try moving up to a real operating system. Find it
here ...

http://www.ubuntu.com

Won't cost you a cent so at least you won't feel that you're out any money.

Cheers.

Do you use Linux? Everytime you "google", you're using Linux.

if only ubantu worked on the virtual pc, only one that works on my system is
linux xp, which is ok but it's kinda cheap as linux standards goes, you can
tell they tried to incorporate windows xp in linux.

what i did was ,a full reinstall..im thinking everything is working
i did a restore point
i hope if this defective os
decides later to stop something from working
like it did my dvd burner and cd burner
i can go to system restore and get it back
i reregisterd my copy of vista
hopefully in a week or a 120 days i want
get shut down, like i did a couple of weeks ago
i bought this off the shelf
at compusa
i wish i had my money back
and didnt have this going to kill me os

got a email from microsoft
they said i could get my money back
if it was within 45 days of pechase
i bought in back in june
it took me a long time to install the stupid thing
i had to get upgraded software for the things
i all ready had in my computer.
right now my computer has no sound
i dont think that will be too hard to get going
even in vista
should of could of would of
i will be more careful of anything else.that microsoft comes out with
thats for sure..

Did you install the drivers for your motherboard?
Did you install the drivers for you sound card, or is it, gasp.. onboard
sound?
How old are you parts?

A lot of vista problems have to do with manufacturers support
not Microsoft.

Look at from a hardware manufactures point.

Microsoft Releases a new O/S.
Lets don't bother making all of our old products work with Vista.
Everyone will have to buy new ones.
We make more money and everyone will blame Microsoft because
things don't work in Vista.

Getting this to work in vista isn't any harder
than when we went from Win 98 to XP. It's just
that it was 5 years ago and everyone forgets the headaches
XP caused when it was released.

You are aware of the fact that 3rd party software broke your CD/DVD
upper/lower filters, right? Proly Nero or some such app.
That's not Vista or MS's fault.

In your eyes nothing is ever Microsoft's fault which makes you
Microsoft's number one pimp.

Just the 240 something he paid.
If he fixes it then he won't be out any money.

Vista will not be recalled and will be the standard in the not too distant future, so you
either bite the bullet now or bite it later because support for XP will go away!
