Do you have an XP install CD? Why are you jumping on Microsoft's case
about your misfortune when they have, and the people here have restated
over and over again not to install a beta OS if you are not willing to
take the chance that you could loose everything? Did you even bother to
back up your important data?

Don't blame Microsoft because you screwed up your computer. If you screw
up Linux, will it be their fault also, or are you going to admit that
you are the reason for the screw ups.

Very cool surferdude.

I agree with you entirely. The Beta version of Windows Vista is not nearly
as stable as Linux. I'm glad you went out and taught yourself Linux
yesterday. So you are now free from the bonds of a free beta operating
system. With your technical prowess, you will have it mastered by the
weekend and be ready to go to work on Monday.

RC-1?
That is quite old now.

Hopefully you heeded the warnings before installing a Beta such as Vista and
backed up all important data.
But then back-ups of all important data is always important, not just when
using a Beta.

Were you prepared for complete data loss on that computer?
Were you prepared for a Clean Installation to repair any problems caused by
a Beta installation?
If the answer to either of the above is No, you were not prepared to install
a Beta.
This applies to Beta anything from anyone, not just Microsoft.

Vista has performed as expected on the computers I have it installed.
Performance and use for my computers has improved with later builds.
