Just wondering a few things:

1) In XP to fix the boot sector or the MBR you booted off the CD and went to
the first repair prompt and into a DOS look alike in order to run a few
commands to fix those things and of course check for disk errors etc.

2) To do a repair install in XP you booted off the CD and went to the second
repair prompt and chose it to do a repair install.

I have Vista Business upgrade so if i need to do either of the things above,
how do you do that with Vista Business (or any Vista, really), please?
Thanks.

There is no recovery console or repair installation in Vista. There is the
Vista Repair Environment reached by booting the Vista DVD. A variety of
repairs are available including Bootrec.exe, System Restore, Startup Repair
and Restoring from a backup.

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to
troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows Vista

For more info on the repair tool from Start | Help and Support search on
Windows recovery environment or startup repair.
