Vista Laptop can't share printer on XP Desktop on wireless network

I just purchased an HP laptop with Vista. We have an HP Desktop with XP.
There is an HP printer hooked up to the Desktop. The laptop links to the
network and printer through a wireless network. I can get on the internet
and access files on a shared external hard drive. but I can't print. I can
see the printer but it says "windows can not connect, access denied." I have
changed every setting on both computers and downloaded the new printer driver
from HP and still no go. Help!
