Please help!! I have a computer on my network of four computers that I
cannot keep connected to my network. It has been working fine up until last
Thursday when I got an intruder into my network. i since have corrected that
situation and my other computers including my host computer are connected to
the internet and working fine. However, when I go into this particular
computer (which has Vista on it), when I go into the wireless network
properties and go into the Security window, the WEP key passphrase is wrong.
When I try to change it to the correct one, click OK , but then go back into
it, it's like the changes never took place. HELP!!

delete that connection and make a new one from scratch with the correct key.

Deleted this connection, and started over. but still will not keep wep key in
place.

If you can connect to the Internet with this computer, and it has the
wrong WEP key, you are not connecting to your network, and in
fact may be connecting to the intruder's network so he can get
access to your computer. A virus scan might be in order here.

Because of your intrusion I would reset the router WEP. This means going to
the router web site set up usually 169.192.0.1 and click the wireless set
up. Change the password usually 16 digits long. Now change each of your
wireless computer logs.
