I get an error during installation saying that my registry is missing or
currupt, yet after reboot i can still boot into XP problem free no noticable
problems or changes, how can i fix this

Without information about your computer and what drives you are trying to
install Vista onto it is not possible to help. If you are trying to upgrade
XP on the only partition on your primary home computer, don't do it.

System info
P4 3Ghz HT 530
Intel Augsbourg Motherboard
1.5GB DDR PC3200 400Mhz DIMM Memory
ATI RADEON X850 XT PLatinum Edition PCI-E
200GB Sata
300GB IDE

I have XP Home Installed on the Sata Drive, I have removed the Sata, and
left the IDE in with No Data, and I get windows Stop errors trying to install
Vista on it, so I decided to try popping Vista over my home edition since I'm
sure i can recover back, and theres no inportant data on the system right now
