Hi Members
Is it possible to install the upgrade academic on
more than one drive and activate. What i want to do is have vista premium on
two hard drives useing same dvd vista. i have it install as upgrade from xp
home and found a few snags so would like to do clean install on new drive . I
use a ide caddy so can swop drives.robin

Personally, I see no problem, as only one copy will be on the computer at
any given time. But it is a grey area, at best. Some will say that it
violates the EULA but my reading does not support that finding.

But hey - I'm of German heritage (thick headed), so what can you expect.

I generally agree with Richard. My only qualification is that with the
different serial numbers of the hard drive, you will most likely have to
reactivate each time you switch products (I did in beta, but haven't tried
with RTM). Why do you want to keep a copy that has snags?

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I was addressing the possible
legalities and not the technicalities of doing as the O/P proposes.

You are permitted to install, and activate, one (1) copy of Windows Vista
on one (1) computer, regardless of the number of hard drives
installed. You would have to purchase a second Windows Vista
license for a second installation.
